Scans and audits
The instant score at /#scan is a free, automated check of public on-page signals. It returns a number from 1 to 100 in the browser. It is not a citation report, not legal or SEO advice, and not an email deliverable. The paid Citation audit is $500 and is sold from /services#audit like any other job on /services.
No citation guarantee
We do not guarantee that ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, or any other system will mention or cite you. Models change. Third-party sources are outside our control.
The Carolina Wire
The Carolina Wire is an independent local publisher. FirstCite is not that publisher and does not control its newsroom. $1,200 covers review and one pitch; coverage is not guaranteed. Editorial control stays with the Wire. If a story is not news, we will say so and recommend other work from the roster.
Payment and scope
Fixed fees are due as stated on the invoice. Extra URLs, locations, or research questions are billed at the roster rates unless we agree otherwise in writing. You must have the right to the website, facts, and materials you send us.
Site use
Do not abuse the scan endpoint, scrape the site in a way that degrades it, or submit others’ personal data without a basis to do so.
